Basic care and Multicultural Maternity care.
In addition to full maternity care, in which the maternity assistant takes on a number of household tasks, among other things, you can also opt for basic care (also called district care or short-term care) at Pryl.
If you opt for basic care, the maternity nurse will spend an average of three hours a day in the family in the first week after delivery. She explains, answers questions and carries out checks on mother and child. She supports you with (breast) feeding and teaches you how to take care of your baby. She keeps an eye on the health of the mother and child and consults with the midwife. With basic care, the maternity nurse has no household tasks.
Our maternity assistants also regularly provide maternity care for foreign families, for example refugees or people who are temporarily in the Netherlands for work.
We meet the wishes and needs of the client and respect the cultural background of the family.
Because some of our clients do not speak the Dutch or English language, we often use visual material and, for example, translation apps. In addition, the interpreter's telephone can often be used when visiting the midwife.
In addition to the support in the family with regard to the care of mother and child, we also guide the client in follow-up steps after the maternity week, such as general explanations about the consultation office.
